WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

Ear Candy Coalition is a 501(c3) charitable organization made up of performers and advocates. Dedicated to helping further develop the careers of up and coming independent musicians and other performing artists from Mississippi (or close neighbors) By providing education and resources to acquire such needed tools as studio audio recordings, professional video production, professional photography, website design, graphics, promotional material, advanced music lessons, professional stage production and/or other related services that can help them gain exposure in effort to advance their careers. These services can easily cost thousands of dollars. Such expenses have halted the careers of an endless line of talent from our area.  So many up and comers simply cannot afford to obtain these professional services. Some try to do it all themselves. If you were to ask ANY independent artists of their struggles this subject will be at the top of every conversation. And many new artists are discovered with just one well produced song or immersive video on YouTube.

Through our organization these tools will be provided by experienced professionals at little to NO cost to the artist. Doing these things we also hope to help employ individuals and businesses in our community as well. Such as recording studio’s, studio musicians, music schools, educational speakers, producers, audio engineers, web designers, videographers, actors, photographers, graphic artists, stage hands and others.

We also support our community through projects such as The Spencer Henry Memorial Musical Instrument Library (a program that puts musical instruments into the hands of kids that need, but can’t afford them) and Guitars Helping Heroes ( a program that provides guitars and guitar lessons to veterans and first responders as a form of therapy) and we pledge to help in other ways during times of crisis and need within our community.

ECC sponsored artists will primarily be independent music groups and artists from Mississippi promoting original music. But all musicians, bands and performing artists can benefit by becoming members of our community. Cover bands, singer/songwriters, comedians, dancers, actors and other performers can take advantage of the perks of becoming an ECC member. As we grow, we will put on our own events, and we will be seeking to affiliate with other local, like minded entities with their events and activities.

We collectively have decades of experience and knowledge to share pertaining to creating, releasing and promoting music. Such as how to properly register music with the library of congress (copyrights). How and why to register with a PRO (Performing Rights Orginization) such as ASCAP, BMI, SEASAC.  Obtaining ISRC's (International Song Recording Code) and how they work. EPK's, stage production, show booking, contracts and riders, publishing, sync placements, promotions and more. If we can’t answer a question we will find sources that can.

Our funding is primarily provided by way of memberships, sponsorships, donations, fundraising events and an occasional grant. We hope you will consider donating or becoming a member.
